Hi Ray, You still doing jewellery work?...A friend has a Georg Jensen silver wedding ring he's scratched badly, and not having seen it myself, it sounds like it needs more than a file and polish ... If you're out of the game, can you suggest someone who is good at repair work? ... Cheers, M Date: Tue, 29 May 2012 14:28:41 +1000 Subject: Re: Georg Jensen ring Hi! ... WELL yes! BUT and isn’t there always a but, it needs to be interesting to get my attention ... Now a scratched ‘silver George Jensen’ holds some interesting prospects – and especially so if “scratched badly”! If your friend is up for it, I think that a badly scratched George Jensen ring could just make for very interesting project. “Jewels without stories [and histories] are dead” to quote a friend and fellow JEWELmaker and a potentially wonderful starting point for a JEWELstory ... If your friend seems at all interested in exploring the possibilities get them to give me a call. It is a simple Georg Jensen ring used as a wedding ring. I scratched it badly in the garden recently and hope that you could repair it ... I would be happy to bring it to you so you can assess the damage and give me an indication of whether you would be prepared to repair it and give me an approximate cost to do the work ... And yes my answer was yes with the condition that the repair needed to be interesting. These days I only go to the studio for interesting projects now that I have the choice ... Well a scratched
‘silver George Jensen’ holds some interesting prospects – and especially so if “scratched badly”! If you are up for it, I think that a badly scratched George Jensen ring could just make for a very interesting project. “Jewels without stories [and histories] are dead” to quote a friend and fellow JEWELmaker. Indeed its a potentially wonderful starting point for a JEWELstory given all the stories linked to wedding rings and that’s not to mention the George Jensen baggage/histories. Sounds to me like this ring is loaded with stories?! ... In the event that you are looking for something
‘more conventional’ I think that I might be able to suggest someone to help out there once I’ve seen the DAMAGElevel. ... I have a conference and some meetings at Inveresk this week. Maybe we could do
coffee@BLUE in between sometime. Regards, Ray Date: Sun, 17 Jun 2012 03:31:43 +0000 Re: Georg Jensen ring Dear Ray, I would appreciate it if you would look at the ring and tell me if either you or someone you suggest would be prepared to repair the damage. I am not sure how interesting the repair would be but that will be for you to judge ... I am going overseas tomorrow and will not be back at Inversk until next Friday (22 June). If you are around that day I would be happy to meet for coffee at Blue Cafe. If not, we can make some other arrangement. Regards, R On 17/06/2012, at 2:15 PM, Ray wrote: Re: Georg Jensen ring Hi! Dear Ray, What about coffee at Cafe Blue on Fay 22 June at 10.30 am? If another time suits you better let me know. Regards, R On 17/06/2012, at 3:40 PM, Ray wrote: Re: Georg Jensen ring
